The New 1Mandala Invitation: You're Invited Anew!

We've been literally working on this paragraph for 6 months. Yep, that's a long time. This had better be good eh?

Our new project invitation is a lot more than words. It summarizes the co-creatively refined intentions our team has been meticulously refining this year. The invitation lay out, step by step, the process that will enable you to help us enable the contagious spread of smiles, consciousness and the 1Mandala.

That said, we would like to invite you one more time to the (NEW) 1Mandala project.

Smile! Humanity's beautiful new face is emerging. Together we're using the ancient and sacred art of the mandala to capture it. We're building the 1Mandala out of his, hers, yours, mine...everyone's portraits! Ask a friend to take yours: Smile all the love, peace and oneness in your heart. Get creative-- shine the change you want to see in the world-- then take the camera from your friend and snap their Peace Portrait. Upload your light, then keep it going-- snap another one! Your smiles and tens of thousands of others will build the 1Mandala into a grand celebration and energizing of the emerging Oneness consciousness on Earth.

Once you've taken yours, your friends or another one's portrait you can upload it to the 1Mandala here or send it in to peace@1mandala.org

See you soon in the 1Mandala!

1Mandala Portrait Delivery to Delican

This is my journey to Delican, a remote village in the Filipino mountains, to deliver several hard copy peace portrait prints of a family that I met on my last pass through their village. The prints were made possible by a donation from Humanity's Team Canada.

The village is 12 hours bus from Manila. One hour by rough dirt road. Three hours hike on a winding foot path. There's no road access, let alone phones, computers, printers or cameras.

I filmed this a few weeks ago. It's a real rough movie shot entirely with first takes. I have been a little ashamed to put it up, not just because it is so rough, but because so much effort went into gifting so little.

The 1Mandala’s new engine is CO-CREATION.

Peace Portrait

We’ve taken out an old diesel engine and replaced it with a hydrogen fuel cell! We’re running this baby a whole new way! The 1Mandala’s new engine is CO-CREATION.

But just what is co-creation?

Co-creation is a playful and powerful way of realizing our dreams together.

Co-creation is a revolutionary way of sustainably, harmoniously and supportively coming together to manifest a shared intention. It is the conscious integration of our diverse creative energies to profoundly compliment one the other. It is the balanced integration of the circular ways of the feminine with the linear ways of the masculine to empower our complimentary diversity.

And it is about time. For too long the masculine over the feminine has plagued humanity’s creations with conflict and instability. For too long valued the gifts of one sex, one group, one person over another.

And so we evolve. Fundamentally, co-creation is a deep acknowledgment that the journey really is the destination, that for all our independence we are inextricably connected and that only together can we achieve our grandest visions. Working co-creatively becomes a magical creative process that not only empowers the group's intention but brings about the community, companionship, and belonging that vastly empower the journeys and dreams of each individual co-creator. The 1Mandala is a bold, shinning example of co-creation in action.

So how does it work? Let’s show you. These very words were written by the 1Mandala’s co-creative writing team (2 men, 2 women). Using an open google doc we’ve crafted these paragraphs. The process takes a life of its own, fusing the unique insights and styles of each.

Click here to see how it works!

And this is how we are building the Mandala. From our translations (a multi-lingual team), to this newsletter (revised and defined by our team each week) to the actual mandala (each of your portraits and smiles).

Stay tuned, more on our new foundation next week.

[1P] The 1Portrait of the Day Returns!

Ladies and gentlemen,

It's been a long while since you received the Portrait of the Day from the project. We've been hard at work! I am real pleased to announce the down time is over.

We've been assembling a social system to get out the amazing portraits you've been sending us. Oh and that's the other thing. In our downtime some really amazing amazing portraits have come in!

I cannot wait to share them with you and the world.

We've also revamped the core invitation to the project. You'll notice the version at the bottom of all the forthcoming portraits. We're still working it to get it just right-- but the shift will be obvious.

We've crafted the invite and our systems to be contagious. We intend the circle to grow and encompass more more people and we want to see more and more fabulous portraits. And we intend to share them with more and more people!

Ok... We're going to make the Portrait of the Day a daily affair now. Each day a great creative smile from someone else on the planet to you!

You're gonna love it!

The World Day of Interconnectedness 10/10/10

Peace Portrait

We're real proud to announce our second collaboration with the World Day of Interconnectedness.

Last year, on 09/09/09, events, celebrations and meditations were organized all over the world. We asked folks from these to get creative, shine Interconnectedness and snap a portrait for the 1Mandala.

These portraits were then woven together to create the 090909 Mandala you see above!

We beleive, that The World Day of Interconnectedness, on 10/10/10, is an important moment and movement in Humanity's conscious evolution.

The 1Mandala project joyfully joins to reflect, energize and celebrate the emerging oneness that will be ignited on this great day of Interconnectedness. We invite all participants on 10/10/10 (if possible at 10:10 AM) to get creative! Find and shine all the Love, Peace and Connectedness in your heart; then, snap your portrait and share it with us and the world. Upload your portrait on our 1Mandala.org/uploader and it will be woven into the grand mosaic 1Mandala with thousands of other portraits. The 1Mandala will unite the energy of all the events on 10/10/10 with the energy of the many other movements around that world that form the grand tide of humanity’s emerging Oneness Consciousness. A special 10/10/10 1Mandala will be available to all participants as a remembrance of the day, to keep the energy flowing and to express gratitude for everyone's participation.

Upload your portrait here on our system or send to peace@1Mandala.org

Apple Expedition

Today I made a beautiful 8km hike into Fedilisan. Thanks to 1Mandala donations by Sarah and Andrew I was equipped with a bushel of apples and some family portrait printed from my last visit.

The only way to get to Fedelisan is a winding, precarious mountain foot path that takes a good 20 minutes down and 30 minutes up. It is a humble village of small tin houses perched on the side of a dazzling verdent valley of rice terraces.

From my last visit I had learned that many of the kids had never tried apples before! It seems they grow everything here in the Philippines-- except apples. They are eight times the cost of the local bananas and you can only get them in the larger towns and cities. I picked up some in my pass through Sagada and brought them with me.

They also don't have cameras or printers in Fedelisan! The family I had met on my last visit had no photos of their kids. I had snapped some of her family and her really shy son on my last visit. You should have seen the mother's smile when she opened up the envelope with the pics!

I was invited into the community hall for coffee. There I met Dawanee and Douane. Douane is 15 days old! Dawnee asked if I could take some photos of her newborn. Her first baby photos! Can you imagine not having photos of your newborn? I'll be sure she gets some prints too.

Mandalas, Hoopla, and Magic

So what's all the hoopla about mandalas anyway? A lot. Let us tell you why we've chosen, with deep intention, this profound medium.

Mandalas are ancient spiritual art-forms found throughout the world's religious traditions and nature. Natural mandalas can be found wherever we choose look-- from tropical flowers, to spider webs to the whirl of galaxies. They have inspired humans across time and continents to harness circular geometry and create the likes of cathedral rose windows, Tibetan sand paintings, indigenous peoples’ dream catchers, Islamic mosaics, and more. The mandala is a powerful and deeply human art form that unites us across cultures.

In all these traditions mandalas re-connect us with sacred wisdom and ourselves, and, in so doing, energize our consciousness.

Russell and Sarah, the artists in the 1Mandala core team have seen it happen around the world. When you make a mandala with pastels, leaves, or flower petals something magical happens. The creator takes all that is really them-- their favorite colors, shapes, and symbols, their joys, hurts and dreams, and weaves them all together in a circular tapestry of meaning. Geometry and symmetry blossom to hold it all together. And everything re-connects. There is great power in connecting and uniting. It ignites passions, inspiration and healing.

And so, we use this ancient art and the latest social media technology, to invite the world and you to cocreate to a mandala the likes of which has never been seen before! A mandala that will reflect, energize and celebrate the emerging Oneness Consciousness on Earth.

Stay tuned. We share more of our new 1Mandala Invitation next week.

See the magic in action. View a magical movie of Russell’s mandala making in Canada and Sarah's mandala work in the Philipines.

The New 1Mandala: One Thousand Strong

Alright folks.  It is up!  The new build of the 1Mandala is officially unveiled for all to see!

We are real proud.  This is all our work over the last year.

Let’s say that again:  Our work.   And we don’t mean a few people, or even thirty or forty.  We mean over a thousand!   What your about to see wouldn’t be the same thing without each of you.  And you.  And you!  And 'You' times a thousand.

Inspired by Wiltshire crop-circles, Kabbala numerology and the smiles of over a thousand humans united in the shared intention of peace and oneness, the 1Mandala is beautiful not just as a picture-- but as a process.

That’s really what’s behind the pretty picture.

We’re building a stunning example of working together in a whole new co-creative way.   We’re serious when we say this is the type of shift that enables a whole new Earth.

Take a good look.  You see

When we’re making beautiful things together we are we putting energy into all the good stuff that is emerging on Earth.  Without any further fuss, we’re leaving all that old baggage behind.  That’s the idea behind shinning all your good itentions for a new world into your creative 1Mandala portrait.

And then, when we weave all those beautiful intentions together using the sacred art of the mandala-- Wow!  Look out!  They say that with movements and project, getting the first 1000 participants is the hardest part.  After this...

Well, look out... and check it out!

To Energize

We’ve added a new word to the 1Mandala Statement of Intention. Yep, this update is about just one word. But, an important word:

ENERGIZE

You see, this word, like the others in our statement of intention, has been meticulously chosen. A group of ordinary folks, from around the planet, have come together around the importance of this extra-ordinary. Together, over eight months, we have crystalized it into an intention that will now unite, focus, and guide the coming together of dozens, then hundreds, then thousands to manifest in a tremendously exciting new way. With joy we now share it.

"Our shared intention is to co-create a grand mandala of creative portraits that reflects, energizes and celebrates the emerging oneness consciousness on Earth"

Amen!

So, why 'Energize'?

Folks, you can feel it-- There's a fundamental shift going on on our planet. The world is getting smaller. We are awakening to just how interconnected we are. The deepening of this consciousness has radical implications-- implications that transform the fundamentals of our economies, values, societies and our ways of life-- implications that empower us to trascend the wars, injustices and oppression that have plagued humanity for so long.

And, a deep consciousness shift is the only way it is going to happen.

Like nothing else, the ancient and sacred art of the mandala is all about energizing consciousness.

Thus, by inviting the world, the 1Mandala will celebrate this amazing experience of shift-- Something that has already begun in each one of us and is radiating outwards. Through the 1Mandala we shall reflect this shift back to the world one portrait at a time.

And, in so doing, Energize it-- To propel it further and farther!

Welcome to the new 1Mandala project.

Stayed tuned.

When You Build Big, You Gotta Dig Deep.

When you build big, you gotta dig deep. Your foundation has to be rock solid.

Alas when you're deep underground no one see can see you-- even if you're working real hard! The last few months we've been working hard and laying deep the 1Mandala's foundation. Yet despite all our hard work-- there hasn't been much to see!

Until now.

We are emerging into the light! Over the next few weeks we'll be introducing you to the new project-- from our new intention, our new core team, our new project invite, our new co-creative engine, and... a thousand-strong new build of the 1Mandala.

We dream of building a mandala with tens of thousands of people. This is a big! And when your building something big, the likes of which has never been seen before, it requires not only a strong foundation, but doing things a whole new way.

Oh boy... are we excited to share our new foundation with you and the gold nuggets of co-creative insight we've found underground!

Stay tuned folks as we roll out our new pillars one by one over the next few weeks.

1Mandala Canadian Print Sales Announced

The new 1Mandala Print shown by social entrepreneur Catalina, near Bucharest, Romania.
The following is the first letter sent out to Canadians to announce our new 1Mandala print sales

___________

Hello dear Canadian 1Mandala friends,

You're getting this because you're Canadian and you're a part-- literally-- of the new 1Mandala.

Many of you have been following and supporting the project for a long time now. And almost all of you here have contributed your portrait! I am proud to say that your portrait, and a thousand others, are now in the newest build of the 1Mandala!

Beautiful, first edition 1Mandala art prints are now available!

We've been working real hard the last few months and have made tons of progress. Alas, it has been on the foundation-- and all underground! This means in the coming weeks we will be unveiling a whole lot-- a new core team, a new intention, a new invitation, a new structure to organize our team, new funding mechanisms, and the new 1Mandala!

Since the 1Mandala began in Canada we're beginning the unveiling here first.

Buying a print means a lot more than getting a pretty picture. Consider it an 1nvestment: An investment in a cutting edge project that literally enables the cooperation of anyone in the planet to fulfill a shared intention. A project that will inspire thousands moments of oneness around the planet then weave them together, using the ancient and sacred art of the mandala. A movement that will be a mighty powerful way to reflect, celebrate and energize the consciousness of our Oneness that is emerging here on Earth. Oneness-- that one radical idea that enables us to truly transcend the conflict, injustice, hunger and separation that has plagued humanity for too long.

Invest and get a piece of the action!

I am also proud to share that, going with the one of the goals of the project to outsource high-end-spiritual work to developing countries, Humanity's Team Romania is printing the 1Mandala from Bucharest. Be sure you're on our 1Mandala Facebook group to hear as we unveil the latest 1Mandala developments.
